How to respect our land, wildlife, and people

Pacheedaht is more than a destination—it is a living, sacred connection between the land, waters, and people. To ensure that everyone can experience this beauty and abundance, we ask all visitors to honour the policies that reflect our values of respect, care, and sustainability. By following these guidelines, you can demonstrate a meaningful understanding of the Pacheedaht community.

General Policies

Tread Lightly

  • Stay on designated trails and campsites to protect fragile ecosystems.
  • Avoid disturbing natural habitats or removing driftwood, rocks, or other materials.

Campfire Rules

  • Adhere to fire restrictions, especially during dry seasons.
  • Use designated fire pits and ensure all fires are fully extinguished.

Leave No Trace

  • Pack out all waste, including recyclables, and dispose of it responsibly.
  • Use biodegradable products for washing and cleaning to protect waterways.

Wildlife Safety

  • Keep a safe distance from wildlife and avoid feeding any animals.
  • Store food securely to prevent attracting animals to campsites.

Cultural Respect

  • Honour the stories, traditions, and spaces of Pacheedaht.
  • Seek permission before entering sacred areas or taking photographs of cultural landmarks.

Community Awareness

  • Respect the quiet and stillness of the land and its people.
  • Follow posted signs and regulations to ensure a safe and respectful visit.

Campground Policies

By Reserving a Site, You Agree to the Following Policies

  • Check-in is 2pm / Check-out is 11am.
  • Limit two vehicles (car, van, truck) per site; any addition vehicles will need to park off-site.
  • Maximum 8 people per site.
  • Late night drive-ins are asked to find available sites via the booking platform.
  • Pacheedaht Campground is not responsible for vehicles or belongings brought into campsite.
  • Speed limit is 10 KM/HR at all times. Drivers must obey posted speed limits and be aware of pedestrians, especially children.
  • Quiet time is 11pm. No excessive noise and/or partying will be tolerated. Such disturbances will result in a warning from staff and Noise Disturbance Fee $200 will be charged. If the warning is disregarded, management has the right to evict you and your party from the campground. There are no refunds if you are evicted.
  • ATVs and dirtbikes are not permitted within the campground
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash and cannot be left unattended at any time. Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Please pick up after your pets.

Cancellation Policy

Customers cannot edit their booking; if there are changes to your reservation, you must cancel and rebook. Cancellations are subject to the following policies and refunds will be issued manually by the Campground Management team per the following guidelines:

  • All cancellations are subject to a $25 admin fee
  • 0-7 days in advance – no refund
  • 8+ days in advance – full refund, less $25 admin fee
  • No refunds for early departures, no shows or evictions.

Please email camping@pacheedaht.ca to process your refund. Please include your full name, dates of the booking and booking ID.
